Honoured as one of Australia’s top three SME Tax Advisers of the Year 2015 by the Tax Institute, Dinesh is also winner of the prestigious 40 Under 40 Young Business Leader 2012 and 2013 titles by CPA Australia.

With over 20 years of experience in Accounting, Finance and Business Management in top corporate positions,
both in Australia and overseas, he is a well-known professional, rendering advice to clients in Australia and overseas on tax matters and business services

Dinesh not only manages major international clients but also helps new clients set up businesses in Australia. He also provides strategic planning advice to SMEs to help
them grow their business. Dinesh is the former Chairman of the Public Practice committee of CPA Western Australia and was formerly a member of the CPA Australia Public Practice Board.

Mili Aggarwal
Director, Fortuna Wealth Management

A master’s degree holder in Business Administration (Advanced Finance), Mili also has a bachelor’s degree in commerce and an Advanced Diploma in Financial Services. She has thorough knowledge of the Financial Services Industry and is well versed with its intricacies.

With 15 years of management experience in both local and international markets, Mili leads the Financial Planning sector with dedication to the interest of the firm’s clients. Her passion is to see the firm’s clients achieve not only financial freedom, but the joy of achieving their dreams. Mili is a mother of 2, loves reading and enjoys traveling to experience varied cultures when not spending time with her family.

Michael Guggenheimer

National Chairman

Michael brings more than 30 years of leadership experience across banking and wealth management, having served as a chair, non-executive director, board adviser, and senior financial services executive, including senior roles at AMP and Westpac.

His career spans Australia, New Zealand, and the UK, where he has partnered closely with boards and executive teams to drive strong governance, sustainable growth, and long-term value, making him ideally placed to support Fortuna in its next phase of growth.

John Shingleton
Director & Managing Principal – Fortuna Legal
Chairman
John brings exceptional expertise to Fortuna Legal. In his 25 years plus legal career, he has worked on many complex commercial projects including commercial property developments, sales and acquisitions of businesses, mergers, business restructuring, due diligence investigations, franchising, forestry projects, rural and commercial succession plans and other legal advisory work.

John has sat on several boards of organisations, including to successfully lead a large health business to maximise the sale value of its shares in an external buyout. John and our talented team are ready to sort out any legal tangle for you with solutions that make sense.

Melvyn Gilbert
Managing Partner – Perth Metro

Winner of Australian Accounting Awards 2022 (New Partner of the Year), Melvyn is a qualified CPA with 2 master’s degrees and over 15 years of international experience. Melvyn specialises in Business Strategies and CFO Services, Accounting & Australian Tax. As an experienced business strategist and CFO, he heads the Business Services & Tax division of the group’s Perth operations.

He  has a significantly large client base varying from West Australian SMEs to Australian subsidiaries of MNCs. He is also advisor to a number of large Indigenous organisations, both in Perth and regional WA. His speciality lies in Strategic Planning, Compliance and Financial Control. Melvyn’s vast knowledge in Asian Engagement has seen him as a contributor at WA’s Parliamentary Inquiry to enhance economic relationship between WA and the Republic of India.

In 2019, he was named as one of Australia’s top 5 Young Professionals (IABCA 2019) in Brisbane and received an acknowledgement from Hon Scott Morrison MP, Prime Minister of Australia. He is a national youth influencer and sits on the board of a ACNC registered Not-for-Profit as well amongst other organisations.

Steve Cross
Managing Principal

Stephen (better known as Steve) is dedicated to providing each and every client with the utmost attention to their individual business requirements. For a decade, Steve was employed by a major accounting firm; his professionalism and skill ultimately led to him being offered partnership. He left to establish the partnership of Douglas, Cross & Chamberlain, located in Geraldton, which has now been operating for 25 years.

He is a highly experienced, well known, Chartered Accountant specialising in agriculture. Steve’s clients are as far east as Southern Cross, Merredin, and Hyden, and as far north as Kalbarri and Northampton. He is well respected throughout the manufacturing and retail industry where he sits on several boards as Chief Financial Officer.

Andrew O’Neil

Senior Financial Planner | Aged Care Specialist

With over 30 years of experience, Andrew O’Neil is a Certified Financial Planner with degrees in Accounting and Applied Finance. He is passionate about helping individuals and families achieve financial security and enjoy the lifestyle they aspire to. Andrew takes a people-first approach, working closely with clients across Perth’s metro and southwest regions to understand their goals and create strategies that provide understanding and peace of mind. His advice is always grounded in integrity and a genuine commitment to improving client’s wellbeing.

As a Senior Financial Planner and Aged Care Specialist at Fortuna Advisory Group, Andrew delivers personalised financial, retirement, and aged care solutions, often supporting families across three generations. He focuses on helping clients make informed decisions and feel secure in their finances, so they can enjoy today while planning confidently for the future.

Sumit Sopori

Managing Director

Sumit is a seasoned Business Insurance & Risk Management Specialist with extensive experience in the financial services industry. As the Managing Principal of Fortuna Insurance Services and Founder & Managing Director of both Imperium Insurance & Financial Solutions and Medsurance & Insurance Café, Sumit brings a wealth of expertise to his roles.

His skills span Portfolio Management, Financial Risk, Business Relationship Management, Risk Management, and Property & Casualty Insurance. A strong sales professional, Sumit is a graduate of ANZIIF and holds a tertiary qualification in business management, underpinning his comprehensive approach to insurance and risk solutions.

Sumit’s excellence in the field was recently recognised when he was named the 2024 QBE Authorised Representative Broker of the Year at the Insurance Business Awards, further cementing his status as a leader in the insurance industry. An avid trekker, Sumit loves hitting the trails whenever he can escape the office.

Tanushree Arora Sopori

Principal and Broking Operations Manager

Tanushree has over 16 years of experience in the insurance industry. Her diverse background, shaped by exposure to various cultures, has cultivated a deep understanding of client needs. Tanushree’s expertise spans Account Management, Claims Management, People Management, Business Development, Sales, and Customer Satisfaction, honed through senior positions at multinational brokers and large insurers.

Her exceptional performance has earned her recognition via several awards, including becoming a 2023 NIBA Broker of the Year Finalist and 2024 Insurance Business Awards Woman of Distinction Finalist. Tanushree’s approach uniquely blends traditional human touch with innovation and technology to meet clients’ insurance needs effectively, which she does while leading a dedicated team with over 25 years of combined industry experience.

In her free time, Tanushree loves cooking and dancing, finding joy in these creative pursuits outside of her professional life.

Mark Polglase
Managing Principal – Fortuna South West

Mark Polglase, Managing Principal at Fortuna South West, brings over three decades of accounting and financial expertise to the table. A 1988 graduate, Mark cut his teeth in Perth for 8 years before founding Growth Partners in Mandurah in 1997. His vision? Offering multidisciplinary services to clients – a dream he’s thrilled to expand on with Fortuna.

In 2019, Mark made the move to Busselton, and now calls Dunsborough home with his wife. His speciality? Navigating the complex world of tax and finance for individuals and small family businesses across all industries.

When he’s not crunching numbers, you might spot Mark exploring local walking trails or casting a line from his kayak. And come AFL season, there’s no mistaking his purple passion – he’s a die-hard Fremantle Dockers fan who lives and breathes footy.

With deep local roots and a wealth of professional experience, Mark is truly committed to bettering the South West community, leveraging his expertise to help local businesses and individuals thrive while actively contributing to the region’s growth.

Elissa Jepp

Business Growth Manager / Executive Assistant

With a career in the accounting industry spanning back as far as 2004, Elissa brings with her a wealth of knowledge. She is passionate about ensuring clients needs are being met and assists where possible to ensure that the client journey is a positive one. Elissa always welcomes clients thoughts, concerns and feedback as this arms her with even more knowledge to be able implement new systems for an overall better client experience – with the most recent of her undertakings been the implementation of electronic signing.

Her passion for organisation and efficiency leads her to hold two hats under Fortuna, with Elissa also taking on the role of Executive Assistant to Managing Director, Dinesh Aggarwal.

Outside of the workplace, Elissa is a busy mum of two young children and enjoys spending time with them at the beach or at one of their many sporting events. When she gets a quiet moment Elissa enjoys… who are we kidding, there are no quiet moments!

Having managed large Asia-Pacific teams specialising in HR, Investigations and Recruitment, Chris brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to every aspect of workplace management.

Chris’s key strength lies in delivering clear, results-driven and commercially focused solutions. He excels in identifying and securing the right talent to propel your business forward while taking a proactive approach to provide comprehensive, well-informed strategies. His work ensures clarity, supports compliance and fosters safer, stronger workplace environments.

Mike Andrew
Managing Director – Fortuna Tech

Mike Andrew has over twenty years of experience in technology and heads Fortuna Tech with the aim to provide businesses with a “one-stop” IT solution that eliminates the frustration of problems being passed between multiple providers.

He works closely with clients across various industries to develop strategic partnerships with hardware and software providers, implement cost-effective technology solutions, and deliver remote support that solves problems quickly. His philosophy centers on problem ownership rather than blame shifting, keeping IT simple and safe so businesses can focus on their core operations.
